Disastrous political context in France
The second round of legislative elections, where polls predicted a Rassemblement National majority in the assembly, proved the opposite, with the withdrawal of the Nouveau Front Populaire and Ensemble deputies enabling the NFP to win the most seats in the national assembly and build a cohabitation government with French President Emmanuel Macron.
The problem is that the NFP can’t agree on a new prime minister and a new government, and Emmanuel Macron doesn’t believe that anyone has won, which means that the NFP could be overthrown by the whole of the right, which could form an absolute majority, so the government would never be truly stable.
This could last until new legislative elections are held at least 1 year after the last legislative elections, according to the constitution, when the president of the republic could again dissolve the assembly.
The stability of the country is threatened in a context where France will welcome the whole world during the Olympic Games.
